In his first over, Arshdeep troubled Gaikwad a couple of times before delivering a beautiful outswinger that rattled the stumps, sending the CSK captain back for just five runs. The left-arm pacer added another wicket in the following over, which got rid of a left-handed batter, Siddhesh Veer, as he nicked it to the keeper. Will Arshdeep Singh Make The Cut?
With Jasprit Bumrah being a doubt for the Champions Trophy following a fresh injury, his fine form could make him a strong contender for a spot in India’s pace-bowling arsenal. Arshdeep will compete with Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Harshit Rana for a spot in the final 15-man squad.
Having finished as the highest wicket-taker in the 2024 T20 World Cup, Arshdeep was also part of India’s recent ODI series against Sri Lanka, which indicates that he is firmly on the selectors’ radar for white-ball cricket. An old video of him playing County Cricket for Kent recently went viral, sparking calls from fans for his inclusion in India’s Test squad as well.
