The Sunrisers played brilliantly to defeat Kolkata Knight Riders by 110 runs and end IPL 2025 on a victorious note after last year’s final loss. SRH set a huge score of 278/5, and Henrik Klaasen made the most difference, hitting a dazzling century. Travis Head led the way with a fast start at the top of the order. Win Zidane and Nicholas Pooran’s quick hitting left KKR’s bowlers at a loss. Their batters played continuously, ensuring that the bat was never going to rest. After scoring 281 in their first game, SRH proved once more how powerful they can be with the bat. Even though they couldn’t reach the playoffs, SRH revealed their capability by performing well at both the start and end of the season.
After the match, KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane reflected on the defeat and how the entire season has been.

“SRH batted well, we made errors. They capitalised on the loose balls and hit the good balls as well. Their intent was great. (Taking pace off) We discussed it, going wide too, but if the bowler doesn’t execute it well, batters like Klaasen capitalise. Through the season, we had our moments. Two or three close games, which we didn’t play well. We gave our best, in a format like this you have to be switched on always. If we’d taken those moments, we’d have been one or two. No regrets, all gave their best. We’ll come back strong next year.” Rahane said in post-match presentation

After the convincing win, SRH now sits in 6th place with 13 points and ended the season with three straight victories. KKR, though, struggled during the season and finished in the eighth position with just 12 points. Both Kolkata and Sunrisers had difficult starts to the season and finished with this trend continuing—a heavy loss for Kolkata in their first and last games but a very strong comeback by SRH to end their season on a high note.
