New Delhi: Dutch-South Africa cricketer Stephan Myburgh has announced retirement from the international cricket after Netherlands marked one of their best victory ever.
Netherlands defeated South Africa in Sunday by 13 runs to pull-off a miracle in the T20 World Cup 2022. No one had imagines that the Proteas will be stopped from going into semi-finals but Netherlands had other plans.
Netherlands kicked out of tournament, though, they also didn't make it to the semi-finals. But Netherlands could’t be happier to have achieved this feat in their carrer.
Stephan Myburgh announces retirement
Stephan Myburgh, who is a South Africa born cricketer, announced his retirement and said that he had never imagined to end his career after defeating South Africa.
While announcing his retirement, he wrote on Instagram, “Hanging up the boots….To God be the glory!!! Blessed to have made my first-class debut 17 seasons ago and my international debut 12 seasons ago. As much as a sportsman always want to win I had a tear for my beloved country.”
