Palash Muchhal sister Palak released a short statement regarding the postponement of her brother wedding with Smriti Mandhana. This is also the first public comment from Muchhal family after the wedding festivities came to an abrupt halt.
“Due to Smriti’s dad’s health, Smriti and Palash’s wedding has been put on hold. Would request all of you to respect the privacy of the family in this sensitive time.”

Smriti’s father, Shriniwas Mandhana was immediately rushed to Sarvhit Hospital and Medial Research Centre after he showed signs of heart attack. On November 24, Smriti’s husband-to-be Palash Muchhal was also admitted in hospital in Sangli due to sudden health complications. It has been reported that while Palaash is recovering well, Smriti’s father continues to be monitored closely. The couple were schedule to get married on November 23 in an intimate ceremony but the celebrations came to an abrupt pause after back-to-back medical emergencies struck during the festivities.
Palak’s statement also comes after speculations which started as Smriti deleted all her Instagram posts of wedding with fiance Palash. Both the families are now focused on recovering from the major health scare that has occurred.

Palash Muchhal’s mother also gave an health update and mentioned that Palash is very close to Smriti’s father.
“Palash is extremely attached to Smriti’s father… The two of them are even closer than Smriti is with him. When he fell ill, it was Palash, before Smriti, who decided that they should not go ahead with the wedding rituals until he gets better,” said Palash’s mother, Amita Muchhal as mentioned by Hindustan Times
