The much-anticipated wedding of India’s World Cup star Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal has been postponed indefinitely. It was scheduled to take place on November 23. However, the high-profile wedding was called off after the families of both bride and groom suffered sudden health crises. Smriti’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, fell seriously ill and was admitted to hospital in Sangli, her hometown. Around the same time, Palash too had to be hospitalized following a deterioration in his health. Though both have since been discharged, the couple and their families are yet to announce a new date for the wedding.
The delay has only triggered intense speculation on social media, especially after Smriti removed all the wedding-related posts from her Instagram account. Casual photographs featuring her with Palash are still online, though, keeping fan engagement on.

There have been a few public sightings of Palash since the postponement. First, he was clicked at the airport-a sort of comeback of sorts-and more recently, pictures of him in a mask while visiting Premanand Maharaj at the ashram called Shri Hit Radha Keli Kunj in Vrindavan did the rounds.
Palash’s sister, Palak Muchhal, told Filmfare about the trying times both families are going through to give a glimpse into the painful period leading up to the postponed wedding.
Interviewer – “Your family has gone through a crazy time recently, how difficult is it for you, palash and mithoon ji to sort of clear head space, focus on the right things and segregate them from the wrong things. Hum positivity ke baare mai baat kar rahe the, so how difficult is to focus on positivity as a family right now,”
