India women’s cricket team vice-captain Smriti Mandhana and filmmaker Palash Muchhal were supposed to tie a knot on November 23 in Sangli, Maharashtra. But the wedding festivities came to an abrupt pause when both the families faced back-to-back health emergencies following which the wedding was postponed.
Shortly after the news surfaced, Smriti removed all her pre-wedding posts from her Instagram account including her engagement and proposal pictures. This sparked widespread speculation online and the situation escalated when Reddit and Instagram pointed at unverified claim about Palash and the two choreographers – Gulnaaz and Nandika Dwivedi. The anonymous post triggered a wave of online outrage, with both choreographers’ names trending across social platforms. Gulnaaz eventually issued a public statement denying involvement, while Nandika has remained silent and switched her social media profile to private.

Gulnaaz took to her Instagram account and wrote: “I’ve been noticing a lot of speculation and false claims going around about Me & My Friend Nandika, so I want to clear this Straight that We Are not the people involved in this issue.
Just because We know someone socially or have a photo with them doesn’t mean We are connected to their personal matters. Please let’s keep things respectful and not jump to conclusions. We appreciate your understanding and support.”

Amid all the growing speculations, neither Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal have given an official statement. According to those close to the families and the wedding organizers, the postponement was strictly due to a medical emergency. Apart from this, both the families have stayed quiet and are maintaining their privacy as speculations continue to spread online.
