Shubman Gill Under CID Scanner! What’s Behind The Rs 450 Crore Scam?

Reports indicate that Shubman Gill invested Rs 1.95 crore in the company along with three other cricketers.

Shubman Gill: Four players from the Gujarat Titans (GT) cricket team, including their captain Shubman Gill, have been summoned by the Gujarat Crime Investigation Department (CID) regarding their investments in BZ Financial Services.

Reports indicate that Shubman Gill invested Rs 1.95 crore in the company. The other three players—Sai Sudharsan, Mohit Sharma, and Rahul Tewatia—made investments ranging from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1 crore.

While Gill is currently abroad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, the other three are based in India and are expected to travel to Gujarat to assist with the investigation.

BZ Financial Services, led by Bhupendrasinh Zala, had promised returns higher than those offered by traditional banks. However, when investors realized they had been misled, they reported the scam to the police.

Initially, the Gujarat CID believed the scam amounted to Rs 6000 crore, but the figure was later revised to Rs 450 crore.
