The Indian team dealt with a scare as vice-captain Shubman Gill reportedly sustained a hand injury during practice just days before India’s high-stakes match against Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025. The two nations are set to clash against each other on Sunday, September 14 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium with the match scheduled to be held at 8:00 PM IST.
In the opening match against UAE, Gill remained unbeaten on 20 and hit the winning shot as well. According to Times of India, Shubman was injured during practice session and was seen visibly in pain after which the team’s physiotherapist immediately attended him as he left the pitch, holding his hand as he sat for his treatment. Both Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav and head coach Gautam Gambhir were seen talking to him with opening partner Abhishek Sharma assisting him with hydration as the physio monitored his injury.
But with the new update according to Times of India, Shubman Gill was present in the optional training session which was conducted. This dismisses all the concerns of a serious injury. Earlier Ryan ten Doeschate also mentioned that India will be playing with the same squad which means it is highly unlikely that there will be any changes.
