Shubman Gill reached Bhubaneswar on Sunday evening and he looked determined, brimming with energy. The India’s T20 vice-captain is now all set to return to the national side after recovering from a neck injury. Gill will be making a comeback to international cricket after absence from the two Tests and three ODIs against South Africa. As Gautam Gambhir noted, Gill is eager to make an impact.
Gill has been included in the five-match T20I series which will be starting from December 9 in Cuttack. Earlier, the BCCI stated that his participation was “subject to fitness and clearance from the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE).” The vice-captain has now recovered and according to Cricbuzz, Gill had spent a few days in the BCCI CoE in Bengaluru where he also did some batting and fielding drills after getting medical clearance.

Gautam Gambhir also confirmed about Shubman Gill’s readiness to join back the India squad and mentioned “Yes, Shubman is ready to start. That’s why he has been selected. He is fit, fine, and hungry to go,”
Most of the Indian players have now arrived in Bhubaneswar but Gill arrived slightly late. Meanwhile it has also been reported that Hardik Pandya was at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Sunday evening for a closed-door practice session as he was among the first ones to reach for the series.
