Tensions between Sanju Samson and the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) have intensified following his absence from the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Although Samson had informed KCA in advance about his unavailability, he has found himself embroiled in the controversy. The situation worsened when the Champions Trophy 2025 squad was announced, and Samson’s name was noticeably absent, further fueling the growing dispute.
Sanju Samson’s Father Accuses KCA
“I knew about six months ago that they are planning something against Sanju. KCA were plotting things in a way that he leaves Kerala. We can’t fight with them. There are directors there, we are small people. You can’t talk back to them, you can’t challenge them. My child is not safe here. They will put the blame on Sanju for everything and people will believe them too. So, I really want that my son stops playing cricket for Kerala. If any state wants to give my son a chance, saying ‘Sanju, come and play for us’, I am willing to make that appeal, his father said to Sports Tak

Sanju Samson Had Already Informed KCA About His Absence
In an exclusive conversation with ZEE News, one of the sources close to Sanju Samson revealed, “Sanju was in Dubai when Kerala Cricket Association sent the mail to attend the camp. The mail was sent 2-3 days prior to the camp. The camp was supposed to start on January 13 and on the 11th, Sanju received the mail. Sanju responded to the mail, saying, he wouldn’t be able to attend the camp because reaching there the next day was tough and there were some personal reasons also. The camp was only for three days. He asked KCA to support him as he has been playing for Kerala for a long while and would like to continue playing with them.”

KCA Not Pleased With Sanju Samson
KCA chief Jayesh George expressed his dissatisfaction stating that he received just a one line message from the Indian star.
“I am not sure if Samson missing the tournament was the reason he was excluded. The reason he was not added to the Vijay Hazare squad was because he sent a one-line text saying he would not be available for the 30-member preparatory camp,” George told MediaOne.
Later he sent a message stating he is available for selection. Be it Sanju Samson or any other player, KCA has a policy in place that needs to be respected.”
