Pakistan batter Sahibzada Farhan has opened up about his gun celebration in the India vs Pakistan match in the Super Fours of Asia Cup 2025. In the match, India won by six wickets after defeating the Men in Green in a dominant fashion.
But there has been a lot of controversies surrounding India vs Pakistan match – in the first encounter their was a huge “no-handshake” controversy that unfolded and in the second match both Sahibzada Farhan and Haris Rauf were in spotlight but for all the wrong reasons. Sahibzada Farhan sparked a controversy when he made a gesture of shooting gun with his bat. Haris Rauf on the other hand was making a falling plane and 6-0 gesture.
The gestures didn’t go well with the fans and it sparked a huge outrage online. Talking about the celebration in press conference, Sahibzada Farhan mentioned that it was his style of expression.
“I usually don’t celebrate fifties, but this time a new idea came to my mind and I expressed it differently. It was just a new style of expression.”
He further opined that he aims to play aggressive cricket “even if the opponent was India.”
Speaking about the match, Farhan said “We played the powerplay well, did not lose wickets and scored freely for the first nine overs. Later, the scoring slowed down, but we are working to address those weaknesses,” Farhan noted.
The gestures which were made by Farhan and Rauf have gained huge criticism and didn’t sit well with the fans and cricket pundits considering the huge backlog of tensions between the two nations.
