India won the semi-final against Australia in the Women’s World Cup at the Dr DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and the emotions overflowed. Harmanpreet Kaur led Team India defeated the mighty Aussies who are also the seven-time World Champions. Jeminah Rodrigues was the star of the show as she smashed a century and played till the end – she remained unbeaten on 127 off 134 deliveries and guided India towards a solid win with 9 balls still left spare.
The stunning victory over Australia sparked a wave of praise from cricketing greats, including Rohit Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, and Gautam Gambhir, all lauding the team’s resilience and Jemimah’s masterclass.
There are wins that go beyond numbers on a scoreboard. This was one of them.

In India’s chase, Openers Shefali Varma and Smriti Mandhana were dismissed early and that’s when Jemimah and Harmanpreet stepped in. While the Indian skipper played a steady knock of 89 runs, Jemimah took the charge and kept Australia under pressure. Deepti Sharma (24) and Richa Ghosh (26) also contributed in the lower order but Amanjot Kaur sealed the deak with an unbeaten 15 off just 8 balls.
