Rishabh Pant was forced to leave the field retired hurt on the Day 3 od India A vs South Africa A match after he faced a nasty blow on his forearm. The wicket-keeper batter had fractured his foot in five-match Test series against England following which he had to take rest for months and recover. Now after making a comeback he has again received a injury setback ahead of the Test series against South Africa which will be starting from November 14.

Pant came to the crease early as KL Rahul was dismissed and he started to play aggressively. He hit first three scoring shots – 4,4 and 6. But trouble striked when he faced a sharp bouncer from Tshepo Moreki which came directly hitting his helmet, Pant was left completely off balance. A concussion test was conducted by the team physio and moments later he started playing another short ball from Moreki struck on Pant’s forearm.
Pant was visibly in pain but he chose to continue but he then misjudged another delivery and it directly struck him on his abdomen which immediately required the attention of physio for the third time in just 20 minutes.

Rishabh Pant was immediately sent off the field retired hurt. Even after nightwatchman Kuldeep Yadav’s dismissal Pant did not return and Harsh Dubey came on the crease. The first Test is already nearing and this is now a serious concern for India as Pant is the first choice of wicket-keeper and his fitness remains extremely important.
