Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) played their first match on home ground in IPL 2025 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, but it did not go in its favour as Gujarat Titans completed dominated the game. Mohammed Siraj was the top bowler for GT as he took 3 wickets for 19 runs, Jos Buttler led the side from batting end and scored a quickfire 73 off 39 balls.

Rajat Patidar Reflects On RCB's Defeat

In the post-match presentation, RCB skipper Rajat Patidar opened up about their first defeat in IPL 2025 and the challenges faced.

"Not 200, but we were targeting around 190. Early wickets harmed this match (for us). (What would he have done differently) Intent was good. Three wickets in the powerplay made a difference. (On if the pitch improved) Slightly better but the way our bowlers bowled was amazing." said Patidar in post-match presentation

Patidar Takes In The Positives

"They put in hard work and it was not easy. On this ground, going to the 18th over, it was amazing to watch from the bowlers. After three wickets, the way Jitesh, Liam and Tim (batted), after three wickets fell…that was amazing to see and the positive from this match. We are very confident about our batting unit - the way they are showing intent, that is a positive sign (for us)." concluded RCB skipper

Jitesh Sharma, Liam Livingstone & Tim David Helped Set Respectable Target

RCB was at 42/4 after 6.2 overs and were in serious trouble but Jitesh Sharma came in and played a very crucial knock followed by Liam Livingstone and Tim David's heroics.
