Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will be heading into the IPL 2026 auction with a clear mindset and less tension as the franchise already has a balanced squad, this means that they only need to make few additions. With 17 players already retained and six overseas spots secured – RCB now has a purse of INR 16.40 crore. Now the defending champions only have to fill eight spots out of which two are for the overseas players.
RCB retained most of their primary players this includes – Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar, Phil Salt, Jitesh Sharma, Tim David, Romario Shepherd, Krunal Pandya, Swapnil Singh, Jacob Bethell and Suvyash Sharma. The team also has a well-balanced pace attack – Josh Hazlewood, Nuwan Thushara, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yash Dayal, and Rasikh Dar.
Even though RCB has Josh Hazlewood and Nuwan Thushara to strenghthen the pace attack but they still need a bowler who can easily rotate with Hazlewood and Thushara. One addition of an Indian pacer will provide the right backup. Apart from this the team also needs a middle order batter or finisher who can handle spin and provide flexibility in the overseas combinations.
Three players that RCB might target in IPL 2026 auction
The three players that RCB might target in IPL 2026 auction are Anrich Nortje, Cameron Green and Simarjeet Singh.
Anrich Nortje fits perfectly as the fast-bowler RCB needs to complete their pace attack as he is capable of hitting 145-150 kph mark consistently. He can play a very crucial role in the powerplay and middle overs adding a tactical edge on flat tracks.

Cameron Green is a very significant all-rounder that is likely to gain the highest bid. Even though RCB’s purse is limited but the team can try and go after him because if he gets added in the squad then they need nothing else. RCB already has a well-balanced squad and an addition of Green will do wonders for the team.
Simarjeet Singh is another pick that will provide good strength to the team as he can take wickets with the new ball and bowl with consistent length. He has shown his immsense calibre in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) by being the highest wicket-taker and his performances in domestic cricket has also been incredible.
