Ravindra Jadeja Scripts History At Lords, Becomes 2nd Indian After Vinoo Mankad To Achieve THIS Rare Feat

Ravindra Jadeja's performance in the current series has been sensational. In three games, he has scored 327 runs in six innings with a mind-boggling average of 109.00, including four half-centuries.

India’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja might have lost the game at Lord’s, but his strong batting effort guaranteed him a return with something more than respect. During the third Test against England, Jadeja again displayed his courage, achieving a personal landmark 7,000 runs in international cricket and joining the ranks of some of India’s legends.

Even though his unbeaten 61 was unable to get India across the line in an exciting finish, Jadeja’s knock solidified his increasing reputation as a reliable batter in all formats. The 35-year-old has now accumulated 7,018 runs in internationals from 361 games with an average of 33.41, scoring four centuries and 39 fifties his best being 175 not out.

Dominance With The Bat In The Series

Jadeja’s performance in the current series has been sensational. In three games, he has scored 327 runs in six innings with a mind-boggling average of 109.00, including four half-centuries. His highest score so far in the series is 89, and he is currently placed as the fifth-highest run-getter.

His consistency in England has earned him entry into exclusive ranks. Jadeja joined the list of the third Indian to record four or more consecutive 50+ scores in England, a milestone only reached by Rishabh Pant (five between 2021–25) and Sourav Ganguly (four in 2002).

Historic Feats At The Home Of Cricket

With twin fifties at Lord’s, Jadeja became only the second Indian, after the legend Vinoo Mankad (72 & 184 in 1952), to have scored fifty or more in each innings at this great ground. But he never got to do his signature sword swing, as India came agonisingly short of a memorable victory by 22 runs.

He also joined a select group of Indian batsmen, along with MS Dhoni, MAK Pataudi, and VVS Laxman, who have achieved more than one twin fifties in SENA nations (South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia) batting at No. 6 or below.

Beating Laxman, Chasing Legends

Jadeja’s 29th fifty-plus score at No. 6 or lower also put him above VVS Laxman (28) on the all-time list. Kapil Dev (35) and MS Dhoni (38) have more such scores for India in this batting slot, and Jadeja definitely finds himself in the league of India’s most effective lower-middle-order batsmen.
