Chennai Super Kings’ star bowler Ravichandran Ashwin found himself at the center of controversy during IPL 2025. The veteran bowler openly declared that he will not post any content related to CSK on his YouTube Channel. The controversy first arose when Prasanna Agoram, a former RCB analyst questioned CSK’s decision to play Noor Ahmad over experienced players like Ashwin and Jadeja. Ashwin shared the video on his YouTube channel which received a lot of criticisms. He eventually removed it but the damage was already done.
Following CSK’s 25-run loss to Delhi Capitals at home on Saturday, CSK coach Stephen Fleming was questioned about the video. He termed it as “irrelevant,” saying, “I have no idea. I didn’t even know he had a channel, so I don’t know that stuff. That’s irrelevant.”

As a reaction to the controversy, Ashwin uploaded a lengthy message on his YouTube channel that he would no longer report on any CSK-related issues for the remainder of the IPL season.
“Given the nature of the discussions on this forum over the last week, we want to be mindful of how things can be interpreted and have chosen to step away from covering CSK games, both previews and reviews, for the rest of this season,” a statement from Ashwin wrote.

“We value the diversity of perspectives that come through on our shows and remain committed to ensuring the conversation stays true to the integrity and purpose of the platform we’ve established. The views expressed by our guests do not reflect Ashwin’s personal opinions. We appreciate all those who engage thoughtfully with the spirit of the show,” it added.
