Rajasthan Royals has put out a firmly worded response following being serious about allegations of match-fixing raised by Jaydeep Bihani, the convenor of Rajasthan Cricket Association’s (RCA) ad-hoc committee. The franchise has categorically denied any misconduct, terming the allegations as unfounded. Yet, according to a report in The Times of India, the charges are likely to be less about performances on the field and more about off-field tension, namely over ticket distribution.
Ticket Dispute Arises
As per the report, the RCA is apparently agitated by a sharp decline in their ticket allotment for IPL 2025. In the past seasons, they used to be given approximately 1,800 tickets per game by the Royals. That figure has apparently been reduced to as low as 1,000–1,200 this season. Insiders suggest that such a cutdown might be the real motive for the RCA’s public outburst.

“No Truth Behind These Allegations”
“At the start of the season, the BCCI gave us a clear guideline that since the RCA is dissolved, we would be dealing with the Rajasthan State Sports Council (RSSC) for all arrangements,” said an RR insider, as per the report.
“The RCA is currently dissolved. An ad-hoc committee has been formed, and with the elections approaching, there is a lot of drama. Everyone wants attention. The BCCI has an anti-corruption unit working 24×7 to keep bad elements away from the game. There is no truth to these allegations,” the BCCI official told TOI on conditions of anonymity.

Rajasthan Royals Get Dragged In Controversy
A weight added to the defense of RR, a BCCI official has also reportedly emerged with a strong word of criticism for the RCA over their unproven statements. Royals, who have struggled in the ongoing season with just two wins out of eight matches, drew recent criticism for folding twice in close finishes—bottling 9 runs off the last over on both occasions.
While the on-field performance is still a worry, it’s the off-field controversy that has dominated the headlines, with Rajasthan Royals pushing back strongly against what they claimed as false allegations.
