Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is all set to host a special reception for their U-19 champion team that recently won the Asia Cup final against India which was held in Dubai. The victory comes as a rare sight for Pakistan as the nation doesn't get many chances to celebrate. The young squad received a magnificent welcome when they returned to Islamabad starting from the airport itself.
Even Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi praised the win and acknowledged Pakistan's success at junior level. He also mentioned that junior level successes fail to gather much attention but this victory is extremely special. The standout performers from the Final were Sameer Minhas who smashed 172 runs against India while Ali Raza from the bowling front completely dismantled India's batting lineup.

India continued its firm stance to not shake hands with the Pakistan side following the footsteps of senior men's team. The U-19 Boys completely ignored Mohsin Naqvi and ensured that there were no contact with the Pakistani side after the match concluded. Even during the medal presentation ceremony, Indian players were awarded their second-position medals by Mr. Mubassir Usmani, Chairman of ICC Associate Members. However, Pakistani players received their medals of victory, which are the winners’ medals, from ACC Chairman and PCB President, Mohsin Naqvi. Later, Naqvi formally handed over the satellite trophy of the U-19 Asia Cup to the captain of the team, occasioning celebrations among the team members.
