India vs England: As soon as the playing XI for first ODI came in, the fans were left baffled with two decisions, one was that Virat Kohli was not included and Harshit Rana’s debut. The fans are left with mixed opinions about Harshit Rana’s debut and questioned Gautam Gambhir’s decision. Some went on to say that Gautam Gambhir is trying to fill in the Indian Team with KKR players.
Earlier when India’s squad for ODI series against England and Champions Trophy was released Mohammed Siraj was dropped and not considered despite being the highest wicket-taker for India in ODIs. This has raised serious questions among the fans as to why the experienced player was dropped and newbie Harshit Rana came in.

However, despite Mohammed Siraj’s crucial lead in charge of the pace attack, he was omitted from India’s 2025 Champions Trophy squad. Instead, the selectors decided to include the left-arm pace of Arshdeep Singh who has played only eight ODIs and now in the ODI series against England, the team went on to go forward with Harshit Rana.
Even though Harshit Rana’s debut has generated mix bag of emotions his performance is of to a great start as he has already bagged 2 wickets.
