Indian cricketer Nitish Rana has welcomed twin sons with wife Saachi Marwah. He shared the joyous news on social media, posting a picture of their newborns’ hands. Nitish, who has represented India in three international matches, played for the Rajasthan Royals in the most recent IPL season.
The couple shared a joint social media post announcing that Saachi gave birth to twin boys on June 16. The couple, who tied the knot on February 18, 2019, received a flood of congratulatory messages from fans and fellow cricketers. Saachi, an interior designer by profession, is also the cousin sister of comedian Abhishek Krishna.
Fellow Players and Friends Extend Wishes
Cricketers and friends expressed their happiness for the new parents. Sakshi Pant, sister of Rishabh Pant, commented warmly:
“Congratulations on the arrival of our little bundles of joy. I promise to be the kind of aunt every child dreams of.”
Other players, including Venkatesh Iyer, Piyush Chawla, Rahul Tewatia, and Ramandeep Singh, also congratulated Nitish on becoming a father.
Nitish Rana’s Cricket Career
Nitish Rana made his international debut in 2021, playing one ODI and two T20Is, all against Sri Lanka in July. In his limited international career, he scored 7 runs in his only ODI and 15 runs across two T20 innings.
Despite the brief international stint, Rana has been a consistent performer in domestic cricket. He has scored 2,954 runs in 54 First-Class matches and 2,281 runs in 78 List A matches
In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Nitish has played 118 matches for three different franchises. He began his IPL journey with the Mumbai Indians in 2016, spending two seasons with them. He then represented Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for seven seasons. Ahead of the 2025 season, KKR released him, and he was picked up by the Rajasthan Royals.
While playing for Rajasthan Royals, he scored 217 runs in 11 matches, which included two half-centuries.
