India’s star Javelin thrower and two-time Olympic medalist Neeraj Chopra is all set to feature in Diamond League as he gears up for final in Zurich. The event is scheduled to take place at the iconic Letzigrund Stadium on August 28 at 11:15 PM IST.
Neeraj Chopra made history when he clinched the Olympic gold medal in Tokyo 2021 and since then he his name has always been in spotlight at global athletics events. However, in the following two editions, he narrowly missed out, finishing runner-up in Eugene (2023) and losing by just one centimetre in Brussels (2024) to Grenada’s Anderson Peters.
The tournament in Zurich will be a tough one to crack for Chopra as there are seven javelin finalists who have been rated in World’s top 10 list. This also includes Peters, the reigning champions and other stars like Germany’s Julian Weber, 2012. The other top javelin stars include: Keshorn Walcott and Julius Yego.
