‘Na Lena Koi Panga, Kar Deinge Hum Danga…’, Team India unveil their secret anthem after winning Women’s World Cup

India won its first women world cup defeating South Africa by 52 runs in final at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

Following a close call ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 final, South Africa lost to India. Middle-order star batter Jemimah Rodrigues made good on a promise she had made four years ago and officially released the new team song. And the Indian team was singing their anthem first time ever. The feeling was compelling in the sense that Rodrigues had promised that they would not perform the song before attaining this milestone. On this memorable night when they clinched their victory there was a memorable backdrop, they kept that promise.

“We decided almost four years ago that we would only reveal our team song when we win the World Cup. And tonight is the night,” Jemimah Rodrigues said via a BCCI video.

What Are The Emotions Behind this Anthem?

The Indian Women’s cricket team’s anthem is a strong and soul-powered song. It expresses about how the Indian Team will definitely fight with all its power and will, and no one can undermine or defeat them. When a call is sent by the team to march on and rise up, it conquers as one. The anthem puts stress upon the pride in the Indian flag (Tiranga) and the devotion to remain the best. In sum it conveys self-belief, solidarity, hope, and a promising future of the Indian Women’s cricketing team as it tries to fly higher.

South Africa was dominated by Shafali Verma, who scored 87 in only 78 balls. Depti sharma contributed 58 runs that are in the middle order. Both batters subdued India to an impressive 298 for 7.

The Indian bowlers were not left out during the pursuit as they often made wickets. Proteas captain Laura Wolvaardt made a strong hundred which was not sufficient. Deepti Sharma took five wickets with a total of 39 runs and Verma got two critical wickets which restricted South Africa at 246.
