Former Indian Cricketer and star CSK batter MS Dhoni has opened up about the moment in his IPL career that he regrets the most. He talked about the incident, where he went on-field and had an upfront confrontation with the umpires in a match against Rajasthan Royals in 2019.
Dhoni’s Walkout Controversy In IPL 2019
In the final over of the match against Rajasthan Royals, Ben Stokes bowled a slower delivery but the ball slipped from his hand and turned into full-toss that was waist high. The straight umpire signaled it as no-ball but the square-leg umpire overruled the decision which led to a lot of frustration in the CSK camp.
MS Dhoni was also seen visibly furious following which he went on the field and was seen to be engaged in a heated exchange with the umpires.

MS Dhoni Reflects On The Incident
Speaking at the Mastercard event with Mandira Bedi, Dhoni was asked if he ever lost his temper and he admitted that it happened quite a few times in his career but he specifically highlighted about this controversy in 2019.
“A lot of times it has happened. During one of the IPL matches, I walked on to the field. That was a big mistake. Other than that also, there have been instances where something gets triggered because we play a sport where the stakes are very high. You’re supposed to win every game. That’s why I say when you’re angry or frustrated at something, keep your mouth shut and get away from it. Try taking deeper breathes because it is similar to handling pressure,” said Dhoni.
