The Bengal cricket team announced the squad for Vijay Hazare Trophy Squad on Saturday, 14th December. Young Sudip Kumar Gharami will be leading the side where two most influential pacers for Bangladesh – Mohammed Shami and Mukesh Kumar, look good to make strong bowling partnership.
Shami Surprises Fans With Vijay Hazare Availability
Mohammed Shami, who has been undergoing training at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, has confirmed that he is available for the one-day tournament. That was surprising, since many thought Shami would surely be a part of the Indian squad to tour Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Still, it doesn’t look like Shami will make it to the Indian squad anytime soon so he could represent the country in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Bengal’s Vijay Hazare Trophy Campaign Against Delhi
Bengal will begin their campaign in the Vijay Hazare Trophy under the coaching of Laxmi Ratan Shukla on Saturday, December 21 against Delhi in Hyderabad. The team is leaving for Kolkata on Wednesday.
Shami Boosts Bengal’s Pace Attack
Shami has already played for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy this season, so he will add substantial weight to the bowling unit of Bengal. Mukesh Kumar is another fast bowler with whom he will provide Bengal with a very formidable pace attack to make them serious contenders for a good run in the tournament. A well-balanced team like Bengal will look forward to making their mark in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
