Mohammad Rizwan Reflects On Humiliating Defeat Against West Indies In 3rd T20I, Says ‘We Needed Partnerships And…’

Pakistan lost the third T20I against West Indies by 202-runs following which Mohammad Rizwan reflected on the humiliating defeat and mentioned about the loopholes that costed them the match.

West Indies registered a decisive win in the third and final ODI as they defeated Pakistan by 202 runs, clinching a historic series victory. Chasing a target of 295, Pakistan’s batting completely collapsed under pressure and the team was all out at mere 92 runs in just 29.2 overs. None of the batters could establish a partnership and stablise the run-chase as the wickets kept falling at regular intervals.

What turned out to be shocking was that five Pakistani players – Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, Mohammad Rizwan and Abrar Ahmed were all out without even scoring. The only silver lining was Salman Ali Agha showed a little grit to score 30 runs but he could not find any solid support from the other end.

Babar Azam once again failed to deliver as he scored only 9 runs before getting dismissed. Pakistan’s star batter has now another unwanted record under he belt as he has gone 72 international innings without scoring a century. This has raised a serious concern about his poor form across all the formats.

“We understood this was the third game given a Test across four innings was played on this deck. The momentum in the last 10 overs took it away as we were on top for the first 40 overs. We thought 220 was chaseable here. The credit goes to them. Credit to Hope. The execution was good but the edges went in their favour. Hope batted well and played some good shots. We had Ayub and Salman bowling. We thought Abrar would come and bowl. But Hope batted well and hence he didn’t complete his overs. Seales was bowling well. He troubled us through the series. We needed partnerships and needed to spend some time.” as quoted by Cricbuzz
