Australia’s T20 skipper Mitchell Marsh will be leading the Australian side in three ODIs and then five-match T20I series against India, starting from October 19. Australia’s regular skipper Pat Cummins is currently facing back injury and has been away from these matches in order to play the Ashes.

“We’ll have all the guys building towards the Ashes but everyone loves playing against India,” Marsh was quoted as saying by foxsports.com.au.

Australia captain Pat Cummins has admitted that his chances of being fit in time for the Ashes series opener against England next month are currently slim. The pace spearhead, who’s been sidelined with a stress-related injury in his lower back, has not played any competitive cricket since July.
The series of ODIs ahead would be the international return of experienced Indian players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, both of whom had played for the country last in February. The second and third ODIs of the Indian tour of Australia are to be played on October 23 and 25, at Adelaide and Sydney, respectively.
