MI Vs RCB: Wankhede Stadium Pitch Report – Here’s Why Toss Winning Team Should Bowl First!

RCB, under the leadership of Rajat Patidar, also enters this game after a thumping defeat to Gujarat Titans by eight wickets, snapping their unbeaten run. They will be looking to rebound and win against MI.

Mumbai Indians will play against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Wankhede Stadium on April 7. With Hardik Pandya as captain, Mumbai has had a shaky season start, winning just one of their first four matches. Their last match was lost narrowly by 12 runs against Lucknow Super Giants. In spite of Pandya’s truly impressive record-breaking five-wicket performance, MI was not able to hold LSG, who scored an impressive 203. Suryakumar Yadav, while chasing, played a fighting game, making 67 off 43 balls with nine boundaries and one six, but Mumbai was still short of numbers, at 191/5.

MI Vs RCB: Wankhede Stadium Pitch Report

The Wankhede Stadium pitch has a reputation for favoring high-scoring games and hence is a batting-friendly pitch. The pitch provides a good bounce, and batsmen can play their shots freely. But towards the latter half of the game, the red soil helps the spinners to some extent, particularly in the middle overs. The teams batting first get an advantage from the initial conditions, but the chasing teams must factor in the pace and bounce, particularly in the second half of the innings.

MI Vs RCB: Toss Strategy

The winning side will want to bowl first, considering the pitch’s inclination to suit batters in the early stages, and the factor of dew that may become a weather condition in the second innings and make chasing easier. With a clear sky and predicted temperatures of around 36°C during the day, the weather will be scorching hot, with the temperature dipping to 27°C at night. Humidity is expected to be moderate, around 57%, and winds will vary from 15 to 25 km/h, which could be of some help to the fast bowlers.
