The tensions on India–Pakistan border escalated on Thursday evening, following which the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has adopted a careful approach on the future of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The rising tensions immediately left BCCI holding an emergency meeting to decide the future of the event. The PBKS vs DC match was suspended following which the BCCI officials convened for an urgent meeting. The match was halted in the 11th over when Punjab Kings was at the score of 122 and there was an abrupt blackout. However, it was later linked to air raid alerts in nearby regions including Jammu and Pathankot.

Even though the match location Lucknow is not on the border, but the increasing tensions are being closely monitored and BCCI will be giving the final verdict on the future of the match. When asked about the match the IPL chairman Arun Dhumal stated, “It is on as of now but obviously it is an evolving situation.”
But with the tensions escalating the match is likely to get cancelled in order to ensure the safety of all the players participating in the tournament.

On the night of Thursday, when PBKS vs DC match was in full swing, Pakistan did a cowardly act and tried to attack several areas on the border to which India completely neutralised the attacks and ensured that everyone was safe.
