Chennai Super Kings played against Lucknow Super Giants at Ekana Stadium, Lucknow. CSK managed to register a win after five consecutive defeats, this was possible due to Shaikh Rasheed (27), Rachin Ravindra (37), MS Dhoni (26), and Shivam Dube (43) heroics. The spinners from CSK also weaved their magic with Noor Ahmad and Ravindra Jadeja taking two tickets each.

“Good to win a game, unfortunately the games haven’t gone our way, it gives a lot of confidence to the team. It was a tough game, glad to be on the winning side and hopefully it gives us momentum. We were struggling in the first six overs in previous games when bowling but then come back in the middle overs … we were not getting the kind of the start also as a batting unit …maybe it was because of the Chennai wicket … maybe we will do better on better wickets, give the batters more confidence.”

We need more bowlers in the first six, we were puting too much pressure on Ash to bowl two overs in the first six, so we mad changes to have more bowlers in the first six, this looks like a better attack … we have done well as a bowling unit, but we can do better as a batting unit. Rasheed batting really well today, he has been with us for few years, we have seen improvement and this year he has been batting really well in the nets, we needed a change in the batting order, he batted really well, but it’s just the start, he has ability to dominate with authentic shots … not like some other batters floating around.” as quoted by ESPNCricinfo
