New Delhi: BCCI secretary has declared that Team India won’t be travelling to Pakistan to participate in Asia Cup 2023. Shah announced his decision in the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Mumbai on Tuesday. 

Earlier, sources had said that BCCI might be open send Team India to participate in tournament. The tournament of Asia Cup 2023 is set to be players in Pakistan but Shah has asked the authorities to host it in a neutral venue. 

India has not played bilateral series with Pakistan

Team India has not played bilateral series with Pakistan in more than a decade due to safety and security reasons. India had last played agains Pakistan in bilateral series in 2012-2013 but after the two teams have only met in World Cup and Asia Cup tournament. 

India vs Pakistan games are emotionally charged

Whenever the two teams play against each-other, the stadiums are full and fans are emotionally connected with the team. The two teams are going to be face-to-face in T20 World Cup in Australia on October 23. Last time, India met Pakistan, Men in Blue won spectacularly.
