Jasprit Bumrah’s injury, which he sustained during the 5th and final Test against Australia in Sydney, seems more serious than thought. What was described as a simple ‘back spasm’ when he left the field on Day 2 for medical treatment now seems to have more lasting implications. According to reports, Bumrah is all set to miss the entire white-ball series against England, with 5 T20Is and 3 ODIs in the agenda. There have been concerns as well regarding his availability for the ICC Champions Trophy that will be starting from February 19. If he has to be a part of the most sought-after tournament, he has to get NCA medical permission.
Will Jasprit Bumrah Participate In Champions Trophy 2025?
India has already experienced Jasprit Bumrah missing crucial tournaments owing to injury apprehensions in the past, and the selectors would not want that to happen again. Therefore, it is unlikely that the senior pacer would be seen in the upcoming series against England. Even though he is still dealing with injury problems, Bumrah is expected to be in India’s Champions Trophy squad, but his inclusion will depend on his recovery, according to a report by RevSportz.

What Jasprit Bumrah Said About His Injury?
“A little frustrating (on injury) but sometimes you have to respect your body, and you can’t fight your body,” Bumrah mentioned after the conclusion of the Sydney Test.
“Sometimes, you have to accept. Would have loved to bowl on the spiciest wicket of the series. Just had a little discomfort after the first innings.” said Bumrah
The BCCI has not made any statement as of now, but this injury raises a huge question over Bumrah’s workload since he bowled 151.2 overs in Border-Gavaskar Trophy with an astonishing 53.2 overs in the MCG Test – his highest in a single match.
