The 2024 season with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) was a turning point for Nitish Reddy, he was picked in India’s T20I squad against Bangladesh then for Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. In 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) he couldn’t leave much impact as he managed to score just 182 runs with an average of 22.75 and a strike rate of 118.95. Overall in his IPL career, Nitish Kumar Reddy has played 28 matches in which he has scored 485 runs which includes two half-centuries with an average of 28.52 and strike rate of 132.87.

Recently he was seen playing in the five-match Test series against England but he was ruled out after the third Test due to the knee injury he suffered. In the two Tests he played, Reddy scored 45 runs and took three wickets but after he got injured he was replaced by all-rounder Shardul Thakur. The injury setback will continue for long as he is likely to miss the upcoming Duleep Trophy.
