IPL 2026 Auction: Quinton de Kock makes surprise entry! Final list with new additions revealed

The board circulated a comprehensive list which has 1,355 names and asked the teams to select the players they wanted to go in the pool.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction will witness 350 players go under the hammer and this is a number finalised by the BCCI after detailed discussions with all ten franchises. The auction is scheduled to be held on December 16 in Abu Dhabi.

The board circulated a comprehensive list which has 1,355 names and asked the teams they wanted to go in the pool. Now the list has been shortened and it also features 35 additions, with one of the most notable being Quinton de Kock, whose name was not part of the initial draft.

There are several Sri Lankan players that have been added – Traveen Mathew, Binura Fernando, Kusal Perera, and Dunith Wellalage.

“The auction will include 350 players and will begin at 1 PM UAE time (2:30 PM IST) on Tuesday, December 16 at the Etihad Arena, Abu Dhabi,” the BCCI informed franchises in an email on Monday (December 8) night as mentioned by Cricbuzz.

“The first accelerated will cover all the players from 71-350. Once these players have been presented, franchises will be requested to submit the names of the players (unpresented and unsold) from all those on the full list of 350 for further accelerated presentation,” the BCCI said.

One of the names that has gained huge attention is of Cameron Green who is an Australian all-rounder and his addition in any team will be very significant. Other names alongside him are Devon Conway, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Sarfaraz Khan, Prithvi Shaw, David Miller and Venkatesh Iyer.
