Cameron Green to get only 18 crores – Here’s why
The Maximum Rule was introduced last year to address the concerns which were raised by the franchises. This has been implemented so that the overseas players cannot take advantage of the supply-demand imbalance. Under this rule, the foreign players cannot receive more than INR 18 crores. If by chance the bid exceeds the limit amount then it will be used by the BCCI for player welfare.

The maximum fee rule does not apply to the Indian players, it is only for the overseas players. The Indian players will receive the full amount of the auction price which will be deducted from the franchise’s purse. Hence, this means that all the money above 18 crores will go to Players Welfare Fund and not Cameron Green.
