All eyes will be on Gujarat Titans on whether they’ll be retaining the star Indian pacer Mohammed Shami or not. Shami faced an ankle injury due to which he was unavailable in IPL 2024. His availability still remains in question as the star pacer has been working hard to regain his fitness. Team India will also be touring Australia and before that Shami will be hoping to make a return in domestic cricket as well.
“I don’t know anything about this. The decision lies firmly with the franchise. If they feel the need to retain me, then they will. Otherwise, they won’t,” Mohammed Shami told SportsTak.
“I haven’t had any word with them so far, but if they do give the option, then who would refuse them?” he added.
IPL Career: Mohammed Shami has played 77 matches in which he has taken 79 wickets with an average of 30.41. He was roped in by Gujarat Titans for 6.25 crores in IPL 2024 auction.
India will be playing the most prestigious Test series- the Border-Gavaskar Trophy which will be starting from November 22 and Shami’s presence would be very crucial.
