The 2025 Indian Premier League season would resume this Saturday, May 17, with Royal Challengers Bengaluru taking on Kolkata Knight Riders, the BCCI declared on Monday, May 12. The league will have 17 remaining games, with the grand finale scheduled for June 3. The venues of playoffs are still not announced and BCCI will be releasing that later.

Overseas Player Involvement Under Question
The week’s postponement of the tournament was precipitated by a recent rise in border tensions that resulted in a match being called off in Dharamsala. Throughout the suspension, a number of global players left the country to return home. As international fixtures approach, especially the World Test Championship Final that starts June 11, the availability of top players particularly Test mainstays from Australia and South Africa is still in doubt with the IPL entering its make-or-break final phase.
