The IPL 2025 season will see a lot of new twists and turns, and the speculations related to retention of players are being made. Among all the others, it is even more at the Rajasthan Royals where most of the talks have taken place. With Rahul Dravid returning to the franchise as the head coach, fans as well as analysts are quite interested to know about their retention policy. Besides, the Royals already have a good strong Indian core in their team. According to a report by India Today, the Royals will be retaining Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Riyan Parag ahead of the auction.
The Three Top Retentions For Rajasthan Royals
Sanju Samson will be the choice at the top of the retention list. Rajasthan is all geared up to retain his wicketkeeper-batter captaincy for the season. He might have a taste of heaven in IPL 2025 too after his fabulous IPL 2024 season and excellent performance for the country.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is said to be another big member of Royals’ batting and likely to be retained in the side as an “obvious decision.” His consistency across formats with the guidance of Dravid would make him a more complete cricketer.
Riyan Parag is said to be the third retention pick, and as such, he would more than likely be one of the first choices of the management.
RTM Card Will Be Used For?
More, the Royals have apparently planned to use their Right to Match (RTM) card on veteran spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. Currently the highest wicket-taker in IPL history, the franchise believes they can match his potential auction price.
If that strategy works out, then England’s Jos Buttler can be left out of the retention plans and will be destined for the auction pool for the upcoming season.
