Star pacer for Mumbai Indians, Jasprit Bumrah is still waiting for medical clearance from the National Cricket Academy ahead of IPL 2025. He suffered a back spasm in the Sydney Test of Border-Gavaskar Trophy since then he has been going through rehabilitation for his stress back related issues. Bumrah has already gone through a back surgery in early 2023, the BCCI’s medical team, led by outgoing Sports Science chief Nitin Patel, is closely monitoring his recovery.
According to a report by Cricbuzz, Jasprit Bumrah is not the only cricketer in doubt apart from his the availability of Sanju Samson, Mayank Yadav, Avesh Khan and Mohsin Khan are also in question.
Sanju Samson Awaiting For Clearance
Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson is also on the road to recovery from injury. Having fractured his right index finger while playing in the T20I series against England, Samson has passed his batting fitness test but is yet to get clearance to resume wicketkeeping responsibilities.

The rest of the tests at the NCA will decide whether he will be fit in time for RR’s season opener against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 23. If Samson cannot retain wickets, RR might have to turn to Dhruv Jurel as the next best option.
Three Injury Setback For Lucknow Super Giants
Lucknow Super Giants are also facing multiple injury setbacks ahead of IPL 2025 with their three key pacers – Avesh Khan, Mayank Yadav and Mohsin Khan in doubt.
Mayank Yadav has been out of action since October 2024 due to back stress and his availability remains uncertain. Avesh Khan is recovering from knee cartilage injury which he sustained in Ranji Trophy. Mohsin Khan is also injured even though the details about his injury are still unclear, he played his last competitive match on on December 31, bowling just 5.5 overs in a Vijay Hazare Trophy game.
