Yuzvendra Chahal, one of the greats of the IPL and the tournament’s leading wicket-taker, was sold to Punjab Kings for a massive INR 18 crore, again strengthening his position as one of the best leg-spinners in the game. Being currently out of the national fold notwithstanding, Chahal’s credentials for the IPL remain unchallenged, and that was surely something Punjab Kings found immense worth in. The new owners successfully outbid other teams such as SunRisers Hyderabad, Lucknow Super Giants, and Chennai Super Kings during the IPL mega auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

He was also ecstatic about working with Punjab head coach Ricky Ponting for the first time, an opportunity he is keen to look forward to.
