Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has been incredible throughout the season but now it faces a big challenge to end its campaign in the top two and play Qualifier 1. With 17 points in 13 matches RCB has its fate in own hands and there is still a very solid chance they can seal their spot in top two race. Their final league match will be played against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
Currently RCB sits at the third spot with 17 points and one match remaining. A win against LSG will take them to 19 points and it will guarantee a top two finish regardless the outcomes in the remaining matches.

If RCB wins their game then the team moves to 19 points overtaking Gujarat Titans (18 points) and potentially rivals Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians. Even if Mumbai Indians wins the match against Punjab Kings they will have 18 points hence, RCB just needs one win and they will again cross MI.
If teams finish on equal points (18 or 19) then the Net Run Rate will play a crucial role, even though RCB has a good NRR, Rajat Patidar and co will be keen to win and avoid leaving their fate to be decided on the basis of Net Run Rate.

For RCB, the math is easy: win against Lucknow Super Giants and they’re in the top two. If RCB loses then Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians both the teams will have a clear way to reach top two while the Challengers will again end up in the Eliminator making the road to IPL 2025 final again very difficult.
