A total of 1,574 players have registered for the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, while players from all over the world will be looking forward to secure a spot in one of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises, it’s definitely going to be a very tough competition.

Out of all the players, 1,165 players are Indians and there are 409 overseas players, this includes both experienced and young talented players.

Some of the Indian stalwarts have registered under the highest base price tag of INR 2 crore, including some former IPL captains:

Rishabh Pant– The young wicket-keeper batter and former Delhi Capitals captain made his comeback after a horrific accident, all eyes will be on him as franchises will definitely go in a bidding war for him.

KL Rahul- He is one of India’s star and explosive opener, he was released from LSG, after being the skipper for two years.

Shreyas Iyer- The former KKR captain too returns to the auction pool, he recently guided KKR towards victory in IPL 2024 and looks as a major target for most franchises.

Ravichandran Ashwin- The veteran off-spinner brings in masterclass skill and experience to the table and franchises would be extremely interested to pick him for their team

Yuzvendra Chahal- One of the leading wicket-takers in the history of IPL, Chahal has been one of the reliable spinners of the league.

Jofra Archer (England)- Played the last season for Mumbai Indians in 2023 and is back after missing the 2024 season. Speed and injury-free, he will only be one of the most priced catch.

James Anderson (England)- In surprising turn of events, James Anderson the legend for England has also registered for the IPL Mega Auction and he is likely to go big for a whopping fee.

Country Wise Breakdown: South Africa leads the list with 91 players, followed by Australia with 76 and England with 52. Other notable contributors include New Zealand with 39 players, and the West Indies with 33. Players from Afghanistan and Sri Lanka each make up 29 players, while Bangladesh has 13 and the Netherlands has 12. The USA has 10 players, and Ireland contributes 9. There are also 8 players from Zimbabwe, 4 from Canada, and 2 from Scotland. The pool is rounded off by 1 player each from the UAE and Italy, adding global diversity to the auction.
