New Delhi: Royal challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) all-rounder Glenn Maxwell played one of his most destructive innings for his side against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at home ground Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday, April 17.
Maxwell’s show
While chasing the huge target of 227 against the CSK, Maxwell stepped on accelerate button as he scored blistering 76 runs off just 36 balls. The Aussies player toyed CSK bowler all over the park at the strike rate of 211.1.
Maxwell, Du Plessis’ partnership
Maxwell joined hands with RCB’s skipper Faf du Plessis and blasted CSK bowlers and entertained the crowd in the packed Chinnaswamy that chanted ‘RCB, RCB, RCB.’ But, out of, sudden was silent in the stadium as Glenn Maxwell departed as MS Dhoni took astonishing catch off Mahesh Theekshana.
Maxwell’s epic ends
That is the big one and that is as much Dhoni’s wicket as it is Theekshana. Maxwell slogged hard but ended up skying it many-a-mile into the night sky above Bengaluru. Dhoni screams for it, asks Theekshana to stay back. The ball was swirling and turning and spitting fire in the night air but the veteran CSK captain kept his trademark calm about him and completed the catch.
Maxwell’s utter carnage had come to an end and that certainly brought CSK back into this game. This epic partnership between the Australian and Du Plessis ended on 126 runs off just 61 balls.
