Along with, surged airfares, hotel prices for the moment are witnessing hikes in prices ahead of the increasing demand. Hotel rates have been raised tenfold compared to their usual rates. Amidst roaring demand, few luxury hotels have shot their prices to even 1,00,000 per night in comparison to usual rates of Rs 5,000 to 8,000.
Hotel and Restaurant Association spokesperson Abhijeet Deshmukh told PTI: “If the hoteliers think that the demand is very high for a particular period, they will try to make some revenue because they are assured that rooms will be full despite higher rate. Once the demand drops, the room rentals will also come down.”
