New Delhi: Flight prices to Ahmedabad are surging speedily ahead of the India vs Pakistan World Cup match on October 15 this year at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Regular prices for economy flight tickets to Ahmedabad from delhi and Mumbai which remains quite budget-friendly for its customer, has been skyrocketing for the day before the match.

A one-way direct economy class flight from Delhi to Ahmedabad, which usually costs around 3,000 to 5,000 non-stop now ranges from 9,000 and above Rs 25,000, as on October 14 one day before the match. Meanwhile, the one-way direct economy class flight from Mumbai to Ahmedabad which usually costs between 2,000 to 4,000 non-stop, now lies between Rs 10,000 to 30,000, one day before the match.

Rushing hotel prices

As cricket fans struggle to find reasonable flight ticket prices to watch the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup; another challenge has burdened them. Along with, surged airfares, hotel prices for the moment are witnessing hikes in prices ahead of the increasing demand. Hotel rates have been raised tenfold compared to their usual rates. Amidst roaring demand, few luxury hotels have shot their prices to even 1,00,000 per night in comparison to usual rates of Rs 5,000 to 8,000.

Hotel and Restaurant Association spokesperson Abhijeet Deshmukh told PTI: “If the hoteliers think that the demand is very high for a particular period, they will try to make some revenue because they are assured that rooms will be full despite higher rate. Once the demand drops, the room rentals will also come down.”
