Jasprit Bumrah-led Team India won the Perth Test by 295 runs and went 1-0 up in the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
Earlier, on Day 4, Australia resumed their innings at 12/3 but quickly lost Usman Khwaja as the fourth wicket. When Australia was at 79, Mohammed Siraj removed Steven Smith as the fifth wicket of the innings. Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh then stitched 82-run partnership for the sixth wicket. Head got out after scoring 89 off 101 balls and at that time, Australia was 161/6. All-rounder Nitish Reddy then removed Mitchell Marsh as the seventh wicket.
Tail-ender Mitchell Starc then frustrated the Indian camp as he built a 45-run partnership for the eighth wicket with wicket-keeper batter Alex Carey. Washington Sundar got rid of Starc to claim Australia’s eighth wicket. In the same over, Sundar dismissed Nathan Lyon to bring India on the verge of victory.
Finally, Harshit Rana dismissed Alex Carey in the 59th over as the 10th wicket of Australia’s 2nd innings and Team India won the Perth Test by 295 runs.
