However, a remarkable bowling performance, led by captain Jasprit Bumrah, put India in a strong position. Bumrah was exceptional with the ball, taking four wickets to put Australia on the back foot. Mohammed Siraj and Harshit Rana backed him up with crucial wickets, reducing the hosts to a precarious 67/7 at stumps.
