Australia has won the Adelaide Test and levelled the series by 1-1
Day 2 Recap: On the second day of the Adelaide Test, Australia continued its dominance after the strong opening day. A brilliant effort by Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj saw four wickets being taken each in dismissing Australia for 337, yet solid bowling meant India went to stumps trailing by 157 runs. The situation turned out to be worse for the visitors as Australia’s pacers tore through the Indian batting lineup, leaving them at a precarious 128 for 5 by the close of play on Saturday. At stumps, India trailed Australia by just 29 runs, with Rishabh Pant and Nitish Reddy at the crease.
As Day 3 of the Adelaide Test unfolds, all eyes will be on Rishabh Pant and Nitish Reddy, who remain at the crease and are tasked with rebuilding India’s innings. With India trailing by just 29 runs, the duo will need to weather the storm against Australia’s formidable pacers. The hosts will be eager to break the partnership early and extend their advantage. India’s hopes rest heavily on these two, as the visitors aim to close the gap and shift the momentum in their favor. Stay tuned for more updates as the action continues!

Australia on the verge of a win
Scott Boland dismissed Mohammed Siraj and ironically it is caught by Travis Head
Pat Cummins strikes again, India loses Nitish Reddy
Amid all of India's struggles Nitish Kumar Reddy has single-handedly stood like a rock and controlled the innings
Pat Cummins takes his fourth wicket, with the short ball proving effective once again. Harshit Rana, struggling to deal with it, edges the delivery to Usman Khawaja. Rana faced 12 balls but failed to score. Australia is now on the verge of victory, with India at 153/8.
Harshit Rana OUT
On the brink of an innings defeat in the pink-ball Test, India’s hopes rest solely on Nitish Kumar Reddy as the last line of defense against another humiliating loss in Adelaide. With Harshit Rana at the other end, Reddy faces an uphill battle. How long can India survive with just two wickets remaining?
Pat Cummins claims his third wicket of the innings as Australia continue to fire. This time, Ravichandran Ashwin is the man dismissed, departing for just 7. Cummins bowled a short delivery, and Ashwin, staying inside the crease, attempted to hook it. However, the ball missed the bat and struck his glove, with wicketkeeper Alex Carey diving to his left to take a superb catch. India has now lost their seventh wicket and looks completely stranded.
India has already received their first blow of the day and now all eyes will be on Ashwin and Reddy
Mitchell Starc strikes early, dismissing Rishabh Pant on the last ball of the first over. Pant attempted to defend the delivery but only managed to edge it behind to Steve Smith, who made no mistake in taking the catch.
Mohammed Siraj mentioned that he enjoyed his battle against Travis Head and said that he was just celebrating his wicket. It was Travis Head who abused him first! He further stated that Head changed the narrative completely in press conference.
The Indian batters found themselves on the backfoot as Australia's fast bowlers thrived under the lights with the pink ball. By the 21st over, India had lost half their side. Now, all eyes are on Rishabh Pant and Nitish Kumar Reddy to rescue India from a precarious position.
India suffered early setbacks in their second innings as KL Rahul (7) was dismissed cheaply, followed by Yashasvi Jaiswal (24), who fell to a stunning delivery from Scott Boland. Boland struck with his very first ball, which moved late and caught Jaiswal off guard. He then had Virat Kohli (11) caught behind with a ball that landed in his troubled channel, a delivery that has caused issues for Kohli in recent times. To make matters worse, Mitchell Starc sent Shubman Gill (28) packing, knocking over his middle stump with a late in-swinger.
India managed to score 128/5 in the 2nd innings and still trail by 29 runs on Day 2 of pink ball Test in Adelaide.
