Australia wins the toss, opts to bat first.
It is likely that this will be Virat Kohli's last ODI on Australian soil.
According to AccuWeather, conditions in Sydney on Saturday are expected to be perfect for cricket.
Temperatures will range from a mild 17°C in the morning to a warm and pleasant 25°C later in the day, creating an ideal setting for the final ODI.
With the surface likely to play better as the match progresses under the lights, both sides may opt to bowl first, preferring to chase a target rather than adopt a defensive approach.
Adam Zampa is on the verge of achieving a major milestone in Australian cricket history. Following his brilliant, match-winning spell in the second ODI against India at Adelaide, the leg-spinner now stands just four wickets away from becoming only the second Australian spinner to claim 200 wickets in One-Day Internationals.
Zampa was at his absolute best on Thursday, outsmarting the Indian batters with his clever variations and finishing with impressive figures of 4 for 60 in his 10 overs. His crucial breakthroughs played a key role in Australia’s series-clinching victory and also earned him the Player of the Match award.
The 33-year-old will now have another opportunity to reach the landmark when Australia face India in the third ODI on Saturday.
So far, Zampa has picked up 196 wickets in 115 ODIs, and he now trails only the legendary Shane Warne, who remains Australia’s highest wicket-taking spinner in ODIs with 291 scalps to his name.
“Kuldeep likely to play at Sydney. Perhaps, a slightly spin-friendly surface…could easily come in for a pacer. Given the batting performance in the first 2 ODIs, I’m not expecting the team to drop a batter for a bowler. Very unlikely,” Chopra wrote on X.
"Virat Kohli's form is important. He needs to rotate the strike and keep the scoreboard moving. Because once he starts doing that, it becomes very difficult for any opposition to stop him. I hope Virat starts rotating the strike quickly, gets some runs on the board, and once that happens, there's no looking back for him," he said.
"With the kind of assistance they're getting on these Australian pitches, they need to make full use of the conditions and show that in their performances. I would like to see the Indian pacers, especially with the new ball, strike early and make that impact," he added.
India's top spinner Kuldeep Yadav did not get a chance to play the last two ODIs, this gained a lot of criticism and fans questioned that Aussie spinner like Adam Zampa can take 4 wickets but India is benching their wicket-taking spinner. After losing two ODIs, India will now play for pride and try to end the last match on a high-note.
The match will be starting at 9:00 AM and the toss is scheduled to be held at 8:30 AM.
