Nathan Lyon has sent back KL Rahul
Day 3 recap: The third day of the ongoing third Test between India and Australia in Brisbane was cut short due to persistent rain. India wrapped up the day at 51/4, with KL Rahul (33*) and captain Rohit Sharma (0*) still at the crease. Earlier, Australia posted a formidable 445 in their first innings, putting India under pressure. The visitors’ top order faltered, losing wickets cheaply and leaving the team in a precarious situation. With six rain interruptions disrupting play throughout the day, officials eventually called it off. India, trailing by 394 runs, still need 246 to avoid the follow-on.
Stay tuned for all the live updates on Day 4 as the action unfolds!
The ball was going straight for a FOUR but brilliant effort by McSweeney.
Ravindra Jadeja (17*) and KL Rahul (77*) bring up much-needed 50runs partnership.
Pat Cummins gives 6 runs off his over. Things are getting steady for India
KL Rahul is batting perfectly.
Its raining again and the play has stopped.
It's time for drinks, India has lost 5 wickets while KL Rahul looks strong he requires a partnership to steady the innings.
Amidst all the chaos, KL Rahul has led from the front and he brings up a stunning fifty in Adelaide.
The poor form seems to continue and Australian skipper Pat Cummins dismisses Rohit Sharma. Last time in Adelaide Pat Cummins had bowled Sharma and now he has edged it and given an easy catch behind the stumps to Alex Carey.
Rohit Sharma- 5*
KL Rahul- 42*
Captain Sharma delivers a good Four off Pat Cummins. This will definitely give him much-needed confidence.
Rohit Sharma dives and survives from getting run out.
KL Rahul hits first FOUR of the day. It was a slightly overpitched outside off ball and KL Rahul beautifully sends it to the boundary.
While commentating Harbhajan Singh said that there are a lot of green patches on the wicket and its still not brown.
Mitchell Starc bowls outside off to Rohit Sharma and no run.
One run and one dropped catch, the play has resumed in a thrilling way.
KL Rahul turned out to be lucky, this could have been his wicket ball but Steve Smith drops the catch.
"Yeah, I think since I've come back into the Test team, fielding at gully is probably when I feel the most nervous because Green is likely to go down as one of the best ever. If you drop one there, you're always compared to him. Any time I can do something like that -- I probably didn't even need to dive, to be fair -- but I thought it had a bit of a moment, and it is a fun team. It's a great team to be a part of. So, yeah, I like fielding there, but honestly, being at square leg is just as good."
Amidst all the chaos, KL Rahul stood out with his calm and composure when the wickets were falling quickly on the other side.
Big expectations come in when Virat Kohli is batting but he again got out on a outside off-stump delivery by Josh Hazlewood. He even faced a lot of brutal trolling for getting out again and again in the same way.

Australia set a massive target of 445, and when India came to bat it lost 3 wickets at a mere score of 22. There were bug expectations from the 2021 Gabba hero Rishabh Pant but his also gave away his wickets cheap.
KL Rahul is trying to stabilize the situation for India and with Rohit Sharma on field a solid captaincy knock is required.
