The India squad for Test series against West Indies has been announced and the two most notable omissions have been of Mohammed Shami and Karun Nair. The team will be led by Shubman Gill and Ravindra Jadeja has become the new vice-captain of India in absence of Rishabh Pant.
The 15-member squad is a mixture of youngsters and experienced players. The chief selector Ajit Agarkar opened up about the two omissions and mentioned that they picked the best 15 at the moment.
Ajit Agarkar on Karun Nair’s exclusion – “Unfortunately, we can’t give everyone 15-20 Test matches. We had expected more from Karun Nair in the England Test.”
